An ATEX air conditioner is specially designed to operate safely in areas that must be explosion proof due to the presence of flammable gases, vapors, or mists, also known as ATEX Zone 2. Unlike standard systems, ATEX air conditioners are built to eliminate ignition sources, making them suitable for use in industries like oil & gas, chemical storage, offshore platforms, and more.

We also design and build evaporator/fan coil units for Zone 1 applications. These are used when the indoor space is classified as Zone 1. The condenser/outdoor unit remains outside of the hazardous zone. The outdoor unit can also be installed in a Zone 2 area. The evaporators were reviewed by a Notified Body and supplied with a type examination certificate.
