The AR-053 is a compact, self-contained rooftop air conditioner designed for Zone 2 areas that must be explosion proof, where explosive gas or vapor may occasionally be present. It is ideal for technical spaces where floor, wall, or ceiling access is limited.
All critical functions, ventilation and cooling are integrated into a roof-mounted monoblock unit, eliminating the need for separate indoor or outdoor components.
The AR-053 is certified under ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX114), is CE marked and designed for use in areas classified as Zone 2.
The rooftop AR-053 is commonly installed on process containers, crane cabins, offshore temporary living quarters modules, mobile operator shelters, and other enclosed structures that must be explosion proof and lack suitable wall or window access.

The AR-053 is designed for mounting on enclosed structures. Unlike window-mounted systems, it integrates with the ceiling and requires no wall or window access.
Ventilation, cooling, and thermostat controls are located in a low-profile ceiling panel installed beneath the rooftop unit. Connectors are used for all electrical connections between the rooftop unit and ceiling panel. No refrigeration technician is required, as the monoblock system is pre-filled with refrigerant.
When the rooftop AR-053 is used in offshore and industrial areas, the condenser and evaporator aluminum fins, sheet-steel casing and copper tubing can be treated with a protective anti-corrosion coating that protects the unit against salt, moisture and chemical exposure.
