AR-051 airconditioners voor zone 2The Toshiba AR-051 is an explosion-safe split air conditioner based on the Toshiba RAV range of indoor and outdoor units. It provides safe and reliable climate control in Zone 2 hazardous areas that must be explosion proof, where gas, vapor, or mist may occasionally create an explosive atmosphere.

This AR-051 is certified under ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX114), is CE marked, and designed for use in industrial areas classified as Zone 2.

Installation & configuration

Depending on the required cooling capacity and room layout, the Toshiba AR-051 can be supplied with a range of indoor unit types:

  • Wall-mounted units
  • Ceiling-mounted units
  • Cassette units
  • Ducted units

The system can also be configured as a hybrid setup, combining explosion-safe and standard non-explosion-safe components. All explosion-safe conversions are performed with great care, while the original Toshiba functionality remains fully intact. The installation and maintenance requirements remain unchanged after the conversion.

Corrosion resistance

When the Toshiba AR-051 is used in harsh or coastal conditions, the condenser’s aluminum fins and copper tubing can be treated with a protective anti-corrosion coating to improve durability and extend operational life.
